Title 18, U.S.C., Section 1201 - Kidnaping

This statute makes it unlawful to seize, confine, inveigle, decoy, kidnap, abduct, or carry away and hold for ransom or reward or otherwise, any person within the jurisdiction of the United States, including but not limited to interstate or foreign travel, maritime and territorial jurisdictions, and/or within any special aircraft jurisdiction.

Punishment varies by imprisonment for any term of years or for life, and if the death of any person results from the kidnaping, shall be punishable by death or life imprisonment.
