Title 18, U.S.C., Section 1546 - Fraud and Misuse of Visas, Permits, and Other Documents

This statute makes it unlawful to knowingly forge, conterfeit, alter or make any immigrant or nonimmigrant visa, permit, border crossing card, alien registration receipt card, or other document by statute or regulation for entry into the United States, and makes it unlawful for anyone to use or attempt to use such items.

Punishment varies from a fine or imprisonment of up to twenty-five years (if the offense was committed to facilitate an act of international terrorism), twenty years (if the offense was to facilitate drug trafficking), ten years (if the offense was a first or second offense), or fifteen years (for all other offenses).
